The President for the 2002–2003 session was Mr T P Cooper.
He is also the current Director of the Comet and Meteor Section and has authored a number of papers published in MNASSA. The first appeared in 1978, reporting on the total lunar eclipse of 1978 March 24. Besides regular Comet and Meteor Circulars, he has contributed 12 papers on meteor showers and fireballs, 11 on lunar eclipses, 3 on variable stars, and 2 each on minor planets and comets.
His Presidential Address, delivered at the 2003 Annual General Meeting, was on "Amateur Observations: Successes and Opportunities".
