Comet Lovejoy C/2007 E2
[March 2007] As reported by Tim Cooper, Director of ASSA's Comet and Meteor section:
Please find below orbital elements for this newly discovered comet, currently magnitude 9. The comet may become magnitude 7 during April.
The comet is currently located in Indus, is a morning object, highest before dawn. During April it moves northward through Sagittarius and Aquila, and is well placed for observation. The comet makes its closest approach to earth on April 24, when it will be a morning object transiting at around 5am.
Please endeavour to observe comet Lovejoy and send me your observations.
Clear skies
Tim
