Minutes of the Observatory
|
| The minutes recorded from 1910 to 1971 are
available today as a result of the foresight of Jan Hers, last director
of the Republic Observatory (1965-1971). He was tasked with closing down
the Observatory. He had all the handwritten minutes of the Observatory
typed and after his retirement, with the advancement of the computer technology,
he scanned the typed sheets with character recognition technology into
the format in which it is available here. The whereabouts of the original
handwritten minutes is not known. Director of the Historical Section: Chris de Coning |
