The ASSA Scholarship for 2008 has been awarded to Daniël Olivier, who is studying for his BSc degree at the University of South Africa. This year his courses include second year Astronomy modules.

Two SAAO-ASSA Scholarships have been awarded in 2008.

One has been awarded to Mpati Ramatsoku, who was awarded a SAAO-ASSA Scholarship in 2007. This year she continues with her undergraduate BSc studies at the University of Cape Town.

The other has been awarded to Rocco Coppejans, who is studying for his BSc at the University of Pretoria. In 2008 his courses include Physics at the 3rd year level and Mathematics.

In 2009 three SAAO-ASSA Scholarships will be available, thanks to additional funding from SAAO. Each SAAO-ASSA Scholarship is worth R4000. More info about the Scholarships at http://assa.saao.ac.za/html/25_scholarship.html
