| The council of the Astronomical Society of South Africa (A.S.S.A.) is elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), for one year. The AGM usually takes place in the middle of the calendar year. For this reason the meetings are indexed according to the term of office, eg. 1922 – 1923.
